Classroom Spotlight for Week of November 28th - Mrs. Leddy, FJH Language Arts

Dioramas, Movie Posters, Power Point Presentations, Maps, Book Jackets, Shopping Sprees, Ad. Campaigns, Monologues...These were the projects that 7th grade ELA students completed based on a book of their choice.  These students have been reading diligently preparing for the end of the quarter Silent Sustained Reading projects.  By the end of the 1st quarter, the students were required to read a book at their level and complete a project based on their book.  In addition to their projects, students were required to give a summary of their books and present their projects to the class.

All of the students did a great job!  They found it is a little scary to get up in front of the class and talk, but they persevered!  With this experience they are improving not only their reading skills, but also their speaking and listening skills!  They are already working on the books and presentations for next quarter!  7th grade is a happening place!
