Katie Fisher - Senior Spotlight

Full Name:  Katie Louise Fisher

1.  What are your plans after high school (college, work force, future profession)?
After finishing high school, I plan attending Illinois State University to major in communications or publishing studies.

2.  What was the biggest change for you between your freshman and senior year?
The biggest change between my freshman and senior year wasn’t a physical change; It was mental. I’ve learned to a lot about myself, who I am, and how to be a better version of me.

3.  Which class challenged you the most and why?
My English I class from freshman year challenged me the most because I enjoyed English classes in junior high, but I had never been in a class where my limits were pushed and there were high expectations. Mrs. Kilker challenged us to do better.

4.  What person do you look up to the most and why?
My role model growing up was my Nanny (Grandmother) and Granddad. They have taught me that you only deserve something when you earn it. Also, I look up to my parents because they have taught me what it truly means to work hard and achieve your dreams.

5.  What will you miss most about Forreston High School?
I will miss many aspects of Forreston High School, but the most prominent is the closeness of the community and its support system.

6.  What advice would you give incoming freshmen?
My advice to the incoming freshman is to be involved. As much as you’d like to deny it, the four years go by extremely quickly. Don’t be afraid to be involved. Join a sport. Start a club. Dress up crazy for Homecoming. Enjoy those four years! Don’t wait till your senior year to realize that you wished you would have been participating from the beginning.
