Alexia Gruhn - Senior Spotlight

Full Name:  Alexia Renee Gruhn

1.  What are your plans after high school (college, work force, future profession)?
I'm planning on going to Highland for two years and then transferring to a 4 year university. I want to get my degree in Elementary Education.

2.  What was the biggest change for you between your freshman and senior year?
My freshman year, I was really shy and never talked during class. Now, I'm outgoing and not afraid to speak up during class. I also don't care about what people think as much as I used to.

3.  Which class challenged you the most and why?
Mr. Diduch's classes challenged me the most. I was definitely scared at first, but I ended up loving his class. He made me constantly think in class instead of just memorizing answers.

4.  What person do you look up to the most and why?
I look up to my teacher at Whiteside, Mrs. Neubauer. She is an amazing teacher and person. Mrs. Neubauer is the most caring, sincere, and positive teacher I have ever had. Not only has she taught me a ton about ECE, but she has taught me so many life lessons that I know I will use for the rest of my life. Being in her class has helped me decide I want to be an elementary teacher. I hope one day I can be a positive influence and inspiration to young people just like she has been.

5.  What will you miss most about Forreston High School?
I will miss seeing my best friends every day, Homecoming week, and going to the dances with my friends. I will also miss being a cheerleader and going to every football and basketball game.

6.  What advice would you give incoming freshmen?
Get involved and have fun! Find something you enjoy and join that activity. The more you do, the more friends you'll meet and the more you'll enjoy high school. Also, dress up for the Homecoming days and go to the dances; you're only in high school once!
