2019 FGS & FJHS Spelling Bees

Forreston Grade School and Forreston Junior High School Conduct Spelling Bees

 

 

Forreston Grade School held its annual spelling bee on Friday, February 8th, 2019. There were fifteen participants total. Timothy Jones was the winner for Forreston Grade School, with Runner-ups Owen Miller and Danica Fong. 

 

Forreston Junior High School held its annual spelling bee on Friday, February 8th, 2019.  Students, parents and staff watched as the qualifiers from the Language Arts classes of Mrs. Griseta, Mrs. Leddy and Mrs. Snider competed for the title of top speller. Thirty-five students from sixth, seventh and eighth grades took part in the competition. Miles Gordon and Alex Milnes battled to earn first and second place honors respectively. Miles will compete in the Lee/Ogle/Whiteside County Regional Spelling Bee held at Dixon High School on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10:00 am.  Alex, as runner-up in the school bee, will be an alternate for the Regional Bee. Congratulations to all the students who competed in the bee, and good luck to MIles and Alex as they represent Forreston Jr/Sr. High School at the Regional Bee in Dixon.
