Unit Two Overview:
Module 2 focuses on measurement of time and metric weight and capacity. Students then apply their new understanding of number to place value, comparison and rounding, composing larger units when adding, decomposing into smaller units when subtracting. Students also draw proportional tape diagrams to solve word problems. From their work with metric measurement, students have a deeper understanding of the composition and decomposition of units. Students calculate precisely using the standard algorithm to add or subtract two- and three-digit measurements given in the same units.
