Welcome to our first year of AP ART!
Students are able to get college credit for this course if they receive a higher score on the end portfolio. This course is a great way for your kid to experience portfolio making, explore concepts and media. Attached to this page is the link to college board for more information of the course in terms of AP. Your kid will still receive grades in class throughout the semester in skyward but this will not reflect the end score given my the college board. I personally do not grade the portfolios and give that score of 0-5!

There are two parts of the portfolio:
Sustained Investigation
This section (60% of your total score) should show a body of related works that demonstrate an inquiry-based investigation of materials, processes, and ideas.
Selected Works
Your Selected Works section (40% of total score) should feature five artworks that best demonstrate skillful synthesis of materials, processes, and ideas.
