Senior Spotlight - Alexis Koehl
1. What activities/athletics were you involved with at FHS?
Volleyball all 4 years, Basketball Cheer Freshman Year, Softball all 4 years, FFA all 4 years, Band all 4 years
2. What was the biggest change for you between your freshman and senior year?
My first real normal high school year is this year. Freshman year was cut short; sophomore and junior year we were in and out of school. My mindset about life has definitely changed; I’m more thankful for the life experiences I have and the opportunities I have.
3. What advice would you give an incoming freshman?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, whether they are about math homework or how to apply for a job. It’s always better to ask and get help rather than go in blindly.
4. What do you look forward to the most during your senior year?
I look forward to leaving school during IH, not having to take the SAT, and not having finals at the end of the year (other than for my AP classes). There are more activities to do as a class, unlike previous years.
5. What are your plans after high school?
I plan on attending Rockford University to major in Elementary Education and getting an endorsement in Special Education.
6. What is your favorite memory at FHS?
One of my favorite memories was going to Augustana’s Honor Band as a freshman and going to Dunkin’ 3 times within a day, along with just the experience in general.
7. Who do you admire the most and why?
The person I admire the most is my mom. She has been my rock throughout my whole life. She’s the person I go to when I need advice or just a shoulder to lean on. My mom is a strong, selfless person, who I will always be grateful for.
