Forrestville Valley Board of Education officially opened the new bus garage facility during a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 16, 2026. This facility upgrade for the Transportation Department was made possible through a deeply meaningful community contribution from Eileen Anderson and her late husband Andy. The land the facility was constructed upon was gifted in loving memory of Keith “Andy” Anderson, who always insisted the school needed a bus garage. Eileen was present with her family Wednesday evening to cut the ribbon and celebrate with board members, bus drivers, administration, other staff and community.
President Braker stated, “Our bus drivers serve on the front lines every day, ensuring the safe, reliable transportation of students. We are thrilled to be able to provide a facility to assist in the important work they do.” Transportation Director Heather Weaver and district bus drivers look forward to having the buses in a heated garage during the winter months. Following the remarks from Superintendent Smith and President Braker, and official ribbon cutting, attendees toured the new facility.
Attendees included the Board of Education, Superintendent Sheri Smith, Eileen Anderson and family, District Administrators and Directors, and current and past bus drivers.
The garage is now fully operational and in use.
