8th Grade Art class has been working hard on their projects inspired by Robert Indiana.
Similar to Roberts LOVE Sculpture in currently at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, students have been designing a cardboard construction. This construction must be a four letter word that describes them. Color choices were picked using color theory.
Students will be wrapping up this project next week and will be shown at the Art Show in Early May, here at Forreston.

The junior class went shopping today for those in need! It was a day of community service and giving back. #gobirds
First grade used their knowledge of shapes to complete the patterns. Then they used their creativity to build their own homes.
This week, 5th graders read the book "Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade" and reviewed summary writing. Then we created a digital parade balloon and used stop motion animation to move the balloon across the landscape. This was a fun project!

(Patriots) 7th and (Loyalist) 8th graders playing capture the flag and learning George Washington's strategies from the Revolutionary War.
The first grade classes have Ag in the Classroom come to do a lesson and activity monthly. This month we learned all about turkeys and made a turkey craft.
3rd grade students have enjoyed working with their TAP student, Brailynn Kloster.
Kindergarten has been learning about measurement in math! This week we focused on weight. The students used balance scales to weigh objects and see what was heavier or lighter.

Tonight, the Max Wenzel Trust Community Event will be kicking off at 6pm at the Forreston Junior Senior High School. All Juniors & Seniors along with their parents are invited. Representatives from Eastern Illinois University, Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of Illinois Springfield and Western Illinois University will be here to discuss and provide information on their universities.
