Last week, 15 FFA members went to the Section 2 Proficiencies to compete with their record books! Out of the 15, we have 8 members moving on to the district level! On Friday 2/6/26 our FFA Horse Judging team placed 4th in the state in non-reasons horse judging!!!! To top that our very own Adalyn Bocker tied for 1st and after a tie breaker placed 2nd at the STATE contest!!!! This team did a great job and they have so many more years ahead of them!

Students in Consumer Ed and Ag Business met with Becky and Amanda from Solutions Bank to talk about how to spot fraud. Thanks for coming to help us learn!

Kindergarten has been hard at work learning all about addition. We have been using number bonds to help us write our addition sentences.





The first grade classes made cards and pictures for the bus drivers to celebrate Bus Driver Appreciation week.

Learning through play in 5th grade! 🕹️🌙 From managing money with decimals in The Game of Life, to writing hilarious captions, to exploring moon phases with Oreos—National Play Day was full of fun and meaningful learning!










Tonight, we honored our 2026 Illinois State Scholars at the high school basketball game versus Orangeville. Congratulations on this prestigious honor!

In Art, 6 and 8th Grade took a time machine back and practiced their signatures with calligraphy pens. After watching a video on Sumerian impact on the arts. The students practiced their signatures , as Sumerian's are known for signing their work.

🕵️♂️🕵️♀️ 4th grade detectives are on the case! Students are sharpening their inference skills by solving mysteries and cracking clues. Learning through investigation at its best!

On Friday, thirty junior high students competed for the title of spelling bee champion. It came down to all eighth grade girls in the top five. Ultimately, Shayla Hill came out as the winner when she spelled "archipelago" correctly. Shayla will compete in the regional spelling bee in Dixon on February 19th, 2026. Congratulations Shayla!🐝🧠




Tickets are on sale for the Spanish Club fundraiser on March 7th.There will be trivia, concessions, a bake sale, and a silent auction. Proceeds go towards supporting student travelers on the Spanish Club service trip to Costa Rica this summer.

Fifteen 5th grade students participated in the annual spelling bee at FGS on Friday. The bee was won by Alex Schmidt in the 10th round. He will represent FGS at the regional bee in Dixon next month. All of our participants did outstanding today!! 🐝
