Congrats to this years Forreston Hall of Fame Inductees! Rod Genandt and Dave Gesin for Dedication, Jake Coffman for Service, Gale Frank for Extracurriculars, the 87-88 Boys' Basketball Team, and the 2016 State Champion Football Team. The Hall of Fame Celebration will be Friday, September 26th at halftime of the varsity football game. Come out and join us as we celebrate these great individuals and teams.

It's Integrity Friday in Fourth grade! Today, some of them decided on a game of kickball!

Kindergartners have been making lots of new friends in the classroom and at recess. Today we learned about how to be a kind friend. We did an activity sorting examples of kind and unkind ways to treat each other.




Ms. Genandt's first grade class practiced making a ten with counters and dice in math class on Tuesday and Wednesday!









Lena and Forreston Opening Day! Come support the Cardinals on Senior Night at Forreston with a 7 pm kickoff. Lena and Forreston have combined to win 8 of the last 11 state titles in 1A football. Tonight starts the run for 9 of 12. #NUIC #FridayNightFootball

The High School Varsity Volleyball tournament scheduled for at Rockford East on September 6th is cancelled. We are currently looking to find a new tournament and keep you posted when successful. Thank you all and Go Birds!

Today is the junior high's first ever walk and run club. Students have the chance to walk and/or run the track during P.E. They will collect a token each lap they complete while we learn about heart health and outdoor physical activity. Students will receive prizes over the course of the school year for different milestones they reach.

High school students in the Principles of Engineering classes made an egg grabber as their first instant challenge. They will learn about the simple machines that make this tool and others possible.


FHS Spanish Club experienced Latin culture at Six Flags Great America during their Viva La Fiesta festival on Sunday, August 24th.





16 FFA members traveled to the largest outdoor farm show; Farm Progress Show, today they will investigate different careers, colleges and tech technologies in agriculture!

Sixth grade ELA students enjoyed "book tasting" this week-getting a taste of which book they wanted to read for their quarter one SSR project. We are full of HOPE for a fantastic school year!







Our JH volleyball teams enjoyed some Friday Zumba to warm up for their Tune up tournament and first games next week! Come out to their first home game on Thursday vs Stockton at 5 pm!








The golf team competed at the Rock Falls invite on Saturday. The Cardinals won the small school division with a team score of 325. Kaden Brown placed 2nd, Daylen Rahn 3rd, and Kendall Erdmann was 4th individually for the small school division.


Seniors played the Bean Game to explore financial choices they would need to make in adulthood. Budgeting with candy makes it much more fun!
