1. What do you look forward to the most during your senior year?
Being able to do everything one more time with my friends and family.
2. What activities/athletics are you involved with at FHS?
I am in FFA, Trap, Servant Leadership, National Honor Society, and Student Council.
3. What are your post-Forreston plans?
I plan to attend a 4-year university to get my pastoral studies degree to eventually become a youth pastor.
4. What advice would you give an incoming freshman?
Find a balance between doing well academically while still enjoying life.

Our fifth graders have been digging 🪨into reading and science by creating awesome posters all about sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks! Students identified how each type of rock is formed, explored different examples, learned their classifications, and even discovered how these rocks are used in everyday life.
To top it off, with Dress Like a Farmer Day. 🌽

Graduating, senior pranks, and spending time with my friends before we go our separate ways.
2. What activities/athletics are you involved with at FHS?
I've been in volleyball, Scholastic Bowl, band, Spanish Club, and National Honor Society.
3. What are your post-Forreston plans?
I plan to go to a four-year university while majoring in forensics and minoring in psychology to pursue a career in criminal justice.
4. What advice would you give an incoming freshman?
Don’t let the past define you as a person. Do activities and meet new people. Also, get Hanley’s homework done on time.

When Farmer Day and Cat in the Hat with Agriculture in the Classroom land on the same day, the kindergarteners know what it means to wear the many hats of a farmer and of a student!

I look forward to doing better in school than I ever did in my other years of school.
2. What activities/athletics are you involved with at FHS?
I'm involved with the musical. I'm the backstage manager.
3. What are your post-Forreston plans?
I don't know yet but maybe finish cosmetology.
4. What advice would you give an incoming freshman?
Try your best. Don't give up, and you will learn who your true friends are through high school. Be prepared for junior year because it is and was one of the hardest years.

In Mrs. Meyer's kindergarten class, we learned about Presidents' Day and read some books about presidents this week!


On Thursday, Alex (FGS) and Shayla (FJSHS) participated in the Regional Spelling Bee in Dixon. Both did an outstanding job representing our district at this event. Congratulations to both school champions! 🐝

Students in high school computers began coding on code.org this week. They are learning basic coding concepts and having fun writing code and debugging games.


Little Cardinal Preschool students continue to work hard every week on their Handwriting Without Tears program.


The first grade classes had Ms Natalie from Agriculture in the Classroom visit today. We learned about Abraham Lincoln and facts about the state of Illinois.
