8th graders in each US History class participated in Socratic Seminars today where they held a dialogue discussion for over 30 minutes about whether Civil War statues and monuments should be removed. They discussed their own opinions, made connections to historical events & people, and above all kept an open mind throughout. Well done 8th graders!!!

FJSHS welcomed our veterans this morning for the annual Veterans Day breakfast! Students ranging from 6th grade to Juniors addressed the veterans giving them thanks, a slideshow recognizing our veterans from the community, and the band playing the songs of each branch of our armed forces. Great job by our social studies department and our students for showing the respect these veterans very much deserve. On behalf of FJSHS, thank you to all who have served and helped keep this great country safe.
