Eighth graders had the pleasure of traveling to Sauk Valley Community College last Friday to participate in the ROE's Pathways Playground. We got to see many local businesses. We e learned about what the different businesses do and what it takes to work there! Thank you SVCC and the ROE for the awesome day!

Advanced Animal Science had one of their favorite days in class today! Pregnant uterus dissection day! This is how our advanced students complete their female reproduction unit by hands on dissection, this also leads them into discussions on fertilization, fetus growth and so much more! Some more facts everyone should know: 1 - This is a dual credit class with Highland Community College and our students our doing hands-on learning that very few college students get to 2 - These specimens we are using are from animals that died of natural causes not for this dissection, this specimen was found to be pregnant after death and instead of it going to waste our animal science industry uses it as a training opportunity!

5th graders in Mrs. Korf’s class put their subject and predicate identification skills to the test with a fun Around the World activity! Students worked together, got moving, and practiced their grammar skills along the way! 📚✨

Due to low numbers tonight, the HS JV Football game @ Stockton at 5:30 pm is CANCELLED.

In kindergarten we had a special visit from Agriculture in the Classroom where we heard a story and made our own books based on the pumpkin life cycle. 🎃 We also learned about spiders, which included a watercolor project and mastering the Itsy Bitsy spider song with the sight word, 'the.' 🕷

Servant leaders had their monthly meeting at Highland today. The training was all about the qualities of a leader such as empathy, communication, creativity, perseverance, and flexibility. They worked together on activities that tested these traits.

Congrats JHXC on the 12th place team finish at IESA state finals and congrats to Asher Weilacher on winning (1st place) finish with a 10:11 two mile.

The Forreston FFA Chapter is gearing up for its annual Test Plot Dinner and Awards Night on Friday, November 13, 2026, and they're inviting the community to join the fun. This year’s event, held at FJSHS Cafeteria, will feature a new and exciting Community Soup Cook-Off. The evening is the chapter's opportunity to present the results and findings from their hands-on corn test plot—a valuable learning experience for the students. The program, which begins at 6:45 PM, will also celebrate the winners of the Bocker Ruff Grain Marketing Competition and publicly thank the local farmers, corn dealers, and community members whose donations made the plot a success. Battle of the Bowls: The Soup Cook-Off Community members and attendees are invited to enter their best soup for a chance to win cash prizes of $100 for first place and $50 for runner-up. The Soup Cook-Off tasting will take place from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM. For a $5 ticket, attendees will receive a dinner roll and four cups of soup to sample, allowing them to cast their vote for the "Best Soup." The Littlest Cardinals at German Valley Grade School are so thankful for the German Valley Fire Department! Firefighters came to GVGS to teach us about fire safety and prevention during Fire Prevention week. We all got to sit in the big red fire truck!! 🚒

Things are heating up in Miss Kempel's Preschool Class! 🔥 We had so much fun learning all about firefighters! Students made firefighter crowns, colored firefighter books, and even got to check out a REAL firefighter helmet 🧑🏼‍🚒👩🏼‍🚒

Thank You to our local fire departments for coming and spending the day with us and teaching us about Fire Safety! It was a fun day and we appreciate you!
