What a great day for our Dairy Judging team at World Dairy Expo! 🐄🏆 On Tuesday, our team competed in the National Dairy Judging Contest and did an incredible job representing our chapter. As a team, they finished 17th nationally, and Emma Lenkaitis placed 20th individually out of more than 300 competitors! We are so proud of the hard work, preparation, and dedication these students put into this experience. Congratulations, team! We are proud of you! 👏🐄

First grade is working hard this week learning about words that begin with consonant blends.

Leadership in action! 💙💛 Our Intro to Ag students got a special visit today during first hour from some outstanding FFA leaders. State and Section officers stopped by to run an interactive session on teamwork, leadership skills, and planning for future success. We loved having Illinois State FFA President Bryer Nelson, Section 2 President Alayna Smardo, and Section 2 Officer Logan Ketchum in the classroom today. Thank you for visiting and inspiring our students!

6th grade science tested their knowledge on osmosis using gummy bears and two different types of solutions!

7th grade science designed their own experiment around the question, "do all skittles taste the same or will I be able to tell the difference when I close my eyes?"

Our very own Todd Stark will be appearing in the classic play "Harvey" as Dr. Chumley that is being presented by the Mt. Morris Performing Arts Guild, Nov 6-8 at 7pm and Nov 8 at Allure of Pinecrest Grove Theater. Tickets will be $16 for adults and $14 for students.

Todd works in the Forrestville Valley Transportation Department as one of our special bus drivers that makes sure all our students are delivered safely and timely every day to school along with during and after school events.

🍎🍏 First grade had so much fun making applesauce today for Johnny Appleseeds birthday! 🍎🍏

The kindergarteners had a great time learning about apples and dressing up as Johnny Appleseed! We even did apple taste testing. Happy apple picking! 🍎

OCEC has partnered with Service Inc to bring a PUNS Open House for parents. Representatives from Service Inc and Barbara Olson Center of Hope will be on site to provide information and answer questions at the SOAR House (address: 106 S 10th St Oregon, IL) on Oct 7 from 3-4:30 pm.

This is open house style and any parents of youth with disabilities are welcome. No registration necessary.

The golf team competed at the NUIC conference meet today. Daylen Rahn finished 5th individually and the team also finished 5th.

Thank you to the US Army for providing us with an awesome assembly about distracted driving. We got an awesome show from DUNK Distracted Driving and learned how to be safe behind the wheel.

Congratulations to Emma Lenkaitis for placing 1st last night at the Agriculture Education CDE. She will be moving on to the district competition. Congratulations to Emily Buttel for placing 3rd at the Agriculture Education CDE!

A huge thank you goes to our TAP (Teacher Apprenticeship Program) students who volunteered at the Agriculture Education CDE last night where they watched student teachers from local area schools practice a teaching demonstration. They interacted as "fake" students for the demos and learned about agriculture!

A reminder that Mini Cheer performs this Friday at halftime! Please meet Coach Korf in the north end zone by the concessions stand at 3:00 minutes remaining in the first half. We’ll walk onto the field as soon as halftime begins. You’re welcome to stand on the track for the entire performance. Afterward, we’ll walk back to the north end zone, where you can check out your child with Coach Korf. We can’t wait to see our Mini Cheerleaders perform! ❤️🖤
