Mrs. Meyer's kindergarten class loves dinosaurs! The students spent all week learning about the different types of dinosaurs. On the last day, they got to become paleontologists and dig their very own dinosaur out of its egg! They had so much fun!

On Thursday morning, Civil Engineering students met with Shaun Gallagher to learn more about survey equipment. He showed them his GPS and laser level devices. After that, students used autolevels to complete a control circuit behind the school.

Seniors planning to attend Highland Community College next school year attended their Quick Start event. They took placements tests, met with academic advisors to choose their courses, and learned how to navigate the online programs used at the college level.

FGS Art students once again had the opportunity to design coffee sleeves for our local coffee shop, Bleu Cedar. This year, students were allowed to submit their designs for the chance to win a gift card. Bleu Cedar employees picked a winning design in each grade level. Congratulations to our selected winners and great job to all of our students for doing such a nice job! Stop into Bleu Cedar and grab a coffee with a custom design from an FGS Art student!

Tuesday, April 21 baseball and softball (H) vs. Lena at 4:30 pm with JV follows is ON AS SCHEDULED.

Thursday, April 23 baseball and softball @ Lena 4:30 pm with JV follows is MOVED to Wednesday, April 22 AT FORRESTON 4:30 pm with a JV follow. On Wednesday, Lena will be the "home" team despite the location being at Forreston.

This means Baseball vs. Warren/Stockton on Wednesday, April 22 is CANCELED & Softball vs. South Beloit is CANCELED

RECORD BREAKER!!! Aliyah Quenzer broke a 27 year old JH Track record in High Jump last night! She jumped 4'10"!!! She is currently ranked #1 in the state of Illinois for Class 2A.

Our 5th graders went on an underground adventure at Cave of the Mounds! 🪨 Students got to see real-life examples of geology in action, explore breathtaking formations, and connect classroom science to the world around them. A day they won’t forget!

Due to impending weather tonight, the IHSA Organizational performance is moved from tonight to Saturday at Lena. Concert Choir will perform at 12:20 pm and Concert Band will perform at 1:30 pm at Lena. Bus is at 10:30 am.

The 53rd Juried High School Art Show happened yesterday at Highland Community College. Congratulations to Jillian Moore and Joleen Colbert on their Honorable Mentions and Jacqueline Hernandez on her Best of School award! I am very proud of the work they have developed through out the year.

If you would like to see their honored work and additional phenomenal Forreston Art Work, the Art show will be up until May 6th at Highland Art center.
