Last night, a few FFA members attended the Section 2 banquet, where section officer elections were held. By giving speeches and being selected by a panel of delegates, we are excited to announce our very own Cylee Kirchner and Emma Lenkaitis were elected to serve as Section officers! Our TAP (Teacher Assistant Program) students attended the annual Education Symposium at Sauk Valley Community College. They listened to area educators speak about their career paths, daily job responsibilities, and completed some fun activities. A couple of our seniors were honored at the closing ceremony for completing the requirements needed to receive their Education Pathway Endorsement. Congratulations to Kaylynn and Braelyn!

On Thursday morning, the Civil Engineering & Architecture class took a field trip to the Fehr Graham offices in Rockford. The students got a tour of the building with a neat view of the Rock River and several projects that Fehr Graham completed for the city. Students then watched a presentation given by staff highlighting the services and technology the company provides.

1. What do you look forward to the most during your senior year? I look forward to going to sporting events and being able to leave IH early.
2. What activities/athletics are you involved with at FHS? I play football, basketball, and baseball.
3. What are your post-Forreston plans? I plan to go to a junior college to play baseball and then go somewhere else to get my bachelor’s degree.
