Reminder for Seniors & Parents: Financial Aid Night is this Thursday, September 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the library. We understand that some practices may have changed time due to the heat. If your student can't make it, parents are still welcome to attend without them. We hope to see you there!
First grade worked on the beginning sounds of words through a cutting and sorting activity.
Spanish 1 students beat the heat with a "snowball fight" today! Students threw "snowballs" at each other that were speaking tasks. Once the timer went off, they opened the snowballs and asked and answered questions in Spanish.
Due to the anticipated heat index being higher than IHSA allows for contests to begin, the High School Golf meet has been cancelled today with the make up date TBD. The Junior High Football has also been moved to Thursday, September 3rd at 7 pm.
Coaches will be sending out a TeamReach message for all changes to practice times for outdoor activities.
Thank you all and stay cool. Go Birds!

In the 7th Grade Art classroom students are practicing the basics of art with Balance construction paper. Students discussed the three types of balance and constructed well presenting posters.
In 8th Grade Art classroom students are pushing their skills on perspective with practicing drawing the Art classroom in one point and two point. To challenge their skills further, the students must use shade (Value) that is present in reality. This is in preparation for a week long project of the hallways of the school.

Students at German Valley Grade School are back in the "swing" of things! Thanks to the dedication and generosity of the FVE PTO, we have a new swing set at GVGS. We are grateful to the PTO, in conjunction with Adkins Energy, for funding this project and to the district staff who made it possible!
Marketing students learned all about brands and logos. They finished the topic by creating "branded" images that did not include the logo or company name. Can you guess any of the brands?
