First grade is in the Halloween spirit!

Fifth graders had a *spooktacular* time at their Halloween party — wrapping up mummies, playing pin the tail on the pumpkin, and enjoying all the festive fun with friends! 🎃👻🕸️

Consumer Ed class created spooky PSA's about the dangers of debt! This is a fun way to share some financial literacy. Happy Halloween week!

Forreston Jr/Sr High School would like to invite all local Veterans to a Breakfast in their honor on Tuesday, November 11th. Breakfast will be served in the FJSHS Cafeteria from 7:00am through 7:30am. At 7:30am Forreston High School Redbird Regiment under the direction of Travis Cunningham will be performing a short concert followed by a presentation by FJSHS Social Studies Department. Part of that presentation will be a Slideshow Dedication to our Local Veterans. If you or a loved one served or currently serving, we would like a picture to add to our Slideshow. Please have your child email the picture to Mr. Joel Tuten, our Social Studies Teacher by Thursday, November 6th. Please allow us to honor and thank you for your service this Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11th.

Last week Miss Hicks' kindergarten class painted pumpkins! We had so much fun making our pumpkins unique! (We love taking silly pictures too!)

Forreston Events the Week of October 27th. Go Birds!

Mrs. Genandt 's 4th grade reading group has been working hard the past month on a research project. Each student chose a national park to research and create a keynote presentation. It all ended with the students giving their presentations to the entire 4th grade class! They did a fantastic job!

Ms. Genandt's first grade class loved having one of our senior fall athletes visit to read a story! They had a blast spending recess with him — especially trying to beat him in a race!

Mrs. Genandt's Fourth Grade class enjoyed having senior athletes come visit!

The eighth graders applied real life scenarios to their classroom novel, "The Outsiders". They put Johnny Cade on trial for a true case of Greasers vs Soc and what the legal definition of self defense entails. What do you think the outcome was? Stay gold✨

2nd grade win groups try out reader's theater for the first time. Two groups worked together to put on their recent read, "The Mitten" in front of 1st grade!

The whole kindergarten class had so much fun using their imaginations to explore and learn at the Discovery Center! A field trip filled with many memories!

Come out to support these seniors tonight for their last home game! Thank you girls for all your hard work and dedication these past four years!

Somonauk High School hosts of the IHSA 1A girls Volleyball Regional
