Each quarter, 5th graders work in teams to earn the most points by following the Cardinal Code. The winning teams for the first quarter celebrated today with a Subway Party! Super job to some really amazing 5th graders!
Kindergarten learned about spiders this week! In Miss Hicks' class we made our own spiders with pipe cleaners as legs!
Good luck to our football team heading to LeRoy Saturday for a 2 pm kickoff. Due to their hard work in the offseason volunteering to run 50/50's for basketball games, the football team was able to purchase a charter bus for the long trip. All from working 5050's so thank you to all who help support by purchasing 50/50 tickets at games for special things like this for our varies activities/groups. Go get win #5 and as always, Go Birds!

Congrats to Renin Scheffner and Jacob Merkel as members of the JH Cross Country Sectional Champion Team! The team is heading to State this weekend to compete for the IESA State Title! Congrats and Go Birds!
🚒🔥 Our 5th graders suited up for a day of fire safety fun! They learned how to stop, drop, and roll, sprayed a real fire hose, explored a fire truck, discovered the tools used in emergencies, tested their skills on agility courses, and even tried on firefighter gear! 👩🚒👨🚒 A huge thank-you to our local heroes for an unforgettable hands-on experience! ❤️

The German Valley Fire Department came to German Valley Grade School today to talk about fire safety. Students loved getting to listen to the firefighters and see the firetrucks.
Pumpkins! Art club this week painted pumpkins for the upcoming holiday.

October is bullying prevention month. High School computers students created anti-cyber bullying posters that will be hung in the hallways for this month.
Congratulations to Kaden Brown who shot a 75 today at sectionals to advance to the State Finals this weekend!
This week the 7th grade math students worked on scale drawing a box side. They have been working on scale factors and calculating new side length as well as areas.
