6th and 7th graders had fun doing their first labs of the year! 6th grade practiced lab procedures while making slime. 7th grade reviewed the states of matter while making root beer floats.

Our 5th graders dove into the world of money to master place value! They did an awesome job learning about regrouping and understanding how these math skills apply in real life. Great work, everyone!





Forreston Sports Boosters Bouncy House Night. All proceeds benefit the Forreston Sports Boosters which turn their funding back to Forreston Athletics! We would love to see you this FRIDAY NIGHT

Fifth graders enjoyed playing Math Fact Fluency games and finding ways to tell about themselves using Math!





To kick off the school year, the fourth-grade team is starting with the "Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich" lesson to introduce the skill of writing with detail!



We are so excited to see 4th graders back in the classrooms! We are filled with HOPE for a fun and amazing year at FGS! Go Cardinals!

The golf team competed at the Byron tiger shootout today. The team finished 3rd out of 8. Individually Kaden Brown was 4th and Darin Greenfield was 9th.

Kindergarten Cardinals were welcomed to the Nest to unpack their backpacks! They are ready for an exciting first day of school tomorrow!

Forreston High School Spanish Club hosted a car wash on August 2nd. They serviced about 15 cars and made $345 towards the scholarship fund to offset the cost for students to travel to Costa Rica in July of 2026.

A Reminder that Open House/Unpack the Backpack Nights Scheduled for August 12th and 13th!
Forreston Jr/Sr High School will be hosting an Open House on Tuesday, August 12th from 5:30pm-6:30pm for ALL Students 6th through 12th Grade. Please come out and get your schedule, unpack your backpacks into your lockers and meet your teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Students will also be given their chromebooks and chargers at this time. At the conclusion of the night Mr. Heinz will be hosting our traditional 6th Grade Orientation at 6:30pm in the FJSHS Cafeteria for all 6th Grade Students and their Parents. Please plan to come out and help your child get all ready for a great school year!
GVGS and FGS Unpack The Backpack Night will be Wednesday, August 13th. All Kindergarten Students and Parents are invited to come and unpack their backpacks at GVGS on Wednesday, August 13th from 4:30-5:30pm. All 1st Grade through 5th Grade Students and Parents are invited to come and unpack their backpacks at FGS from 5-6:00pm. Please take advantage of this great opportunity to get your child familiar with the buildings and relieve any beginning of the year jitters!
GVGS Preschool students (ELA & LCP) will unpack their backpacks and meet the teachers on Thursday, August 14th, 8:00-10:00 AM.
